The Toyota Camry
The Subaru Impreza
Toyota makes comfortable, reliable cars that are loaded with enjoyable standard tech features. The new Toyota Camry is one of our most popular sedans because of its cushioned ride and peppy acceleration. The Subaru Impreza also has a balanced ride, but it's not as well-rounded as the Camry. Aubrey Alexander Toyota of Selinsgrove built the following comparison to explain why.
Performance
Horsepower and Acceleration
You need a strong burst of acceleration to pass other cars on I-180 in Williamsport. The new Toyota Camry comes standard with a 203-horsepower four-cylinder engine, but a 301-horsepower V6 motor is available. Either engine gives you plenty of oomph for your daily commute.
The new Subaru Impreza is only available with one engine - a 152-horsepower four-cylinder motor that feels underpowered on the highway.
Fuel Economy
Since gas prices vary widely from year-to-year, you'll want a car that uses as little fuel as possible. Danville drivers will appreciate that the new Toyota Camry earns 25 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway when equipped with the base engine and all-wheel drive.
The new Subaru Impreza comes standard with all-wheel drive and a manual transmission. It returns 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway with that configuration.
Interior
Passenger Room
The new Toyota Camry holds up to five people in its spacious, well-cushioned seats. Taller passengers in Danville are treated to 38 inches of backseat legroom. The Camry also has 42.1 inches of front legroom.
The new Subaru Impreza also seats five passengers, but it doesn't offer as much space to stretch out. It only has 36.5 inches of rear legroom.
Cargo Space
You'll want a car that has ample space to stow your purchases from Columbia Mall in Bloomsburg. The new Toyota Camry has a 15.1 cubic-foot trunk to stash shopping bags or luggage in.
The new Subaru Impreza sedan only has 12.3 cubic feet of trunk space.
Infotainment System
A feature-filled infotainment system makes long drives in Williamsport more entertaining. The new Toyota Camry's easy-to-use infotainment system comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen that supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa.
The new Subaru Impreza's infotainment system comes standard with a 6.5-inch touchscreen. It also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, but Amazon Alexa is not available.
Reliability
Having a car that starts and runs every day is critical for making it to work or appointments on time in Bloomsburg. The new Toyota Camry received a Great predicted reliability score of 84 out of 100 from J.D. Power.
The new Subaru Impreza scored 80 out of 100 in predicted reliability ratings by J.D. Power.
Ride and Handling
The new Toyota Camry has well-weighted steering and stout brakes that keep it composed on winding roads in Selinsgrove. An available track-tuned suspension in Camry TRD trims provides spicier handling. The Camry's standard front strut and multi-link rear independent suspension soaks up bumps in the road for a relaxing ride.
The new Subaru Impreza also has a smooth ride and engaging handling. However, it doesn't offer a track-tuned suspension.
